Kye Ginger received their bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University as well as a Master’s degree from Brooklyn College (both in creative writing/poetry) and their M.A.T. from Lewis and Clark College. Kye’s work with children has been expansive in its scope, but the work has always kept children’s voices, perspectives, and rights at the center. They are thrilled with the chance to join the exploration, learning, and play at Opal School, and to be able to grow and learn alongside all the adults and young folks in the community. Kye loves seeing all the opportunities that flourish within collaborative efforts, thinking about the challenges, gifts, and in-betweens of languages (including numerical ones), and standing strong in visions of hope found through using a social justice lens in each and every one of life’s encounters.
