Hana Hutchings

Hana Hutchings was a teacher-researcher in the Opal beginning community. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Richmond the American University in London and received her MAT from Lewis and Clark University. Her teaching career began in Portland Public and the Tigard-Tualatin School districts. Hana cares deeply about uncovering authentic learning experiences and is excited to be at Opal where interdependence and relationships are celebrated. As a teacher-researcher she is interested in the role of play in learning, a phenomenological approach to psychology and child development, and the voices of her students as told through their stories. Hana’s interests include travel, flowers and plants, listening to music, and reading.
