Finished landscapes!

Finished landscapes!

Our last post described the process of creating landscapes based on Opal 3's research of five Native American tribes of Oregon. Below you will see the photos the finished products!!

The intention of this study of these tribes' landscapes is to base our study of history this year through the lens of humans' relationship to the environments they live in. With all of the stories told about different cultures, events, and individuals throughout history, the landscapes that provide the context for these stories often plays a silent, but powerful role in shaping the culture of those who live in them. Below you will see the care the children have put into the details of creating these landscapes – a setting for our continued study of these peoples and cultures.
